Polarzauber Zürich

From the workshop to the digital platform: Polarzauber Zurich

For Polarzauber at Zurich Main Station, we delivered a full-scale project — from physical construction to digital infrastructure. More than 160,000 visitors per day experience one of the largest indoor Christmas markets in Europe — entirely built in our workshop and seamlessly connected through integrated digital systems.

For Polarzauber at Zurich Main Station, an entire indoor Christmas market had to be built from the ground up — from the very first wooden board to the final string of lights. Everything had to function seamlessly inside the station hall, with over 160,000 visitors passing through daily.

From our workshop:

  • Market huts for all exhibitors
  • Baba Noel Bar
  • Fondue Express
  • Pixel Tunnel construction
  • Modular setup for flexible booth configurations
  • In-house production of all wooden structures

An interactive light experience for children and families had to be constructed and brought to life with a compelling story. The tunnel needed to be stable, safe, and designed to handle high visitor volumes.

Our solution:

  • Physical construction and technical integration
  • Tunnel structure built in our own workshop
  • Story concept “The Lost Wish Lists” featuring Bori the Polar Bear
  • Light, sound, and motion elements
  • Interactive experience for children
  • Ticket booking system for time-slot management

With high visitor frequency, entry times for the Pixel Tunnel had to be managed without causing long queues or overcrowding.

Our booking system:

  • Development of a fully customized booking system
  • Online payments via Stripe and TWINT
  • Automatic wallet integration for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
  • Mobile POS system for on-site promoters
  • Real-time slot management
  • Direct sale of available time slots

Information, programming, and announcements had to be communicated across the entire Christmas market in real time.

Our solution:

  • Implementation of a centrally controlled display system
  • Digital signage screens distributed throughout the entire market
  • Centralized control via a content management system
  • Real-time updates for program changes
  • Special promotions and announcements published within seconds
  • Dynamic communication without the need to replace printed posters

Visitors and exhibitors needed a central platform for information, orientation, and communication. The website had to be developed entirely in-house.

Our website & hall map:

  • Development of a comprehensive event platform
  • Event calendar for all shows and concerts
  • Exhibitor directory with booth overview
  • Interactive hall map for easy orientation
  • Website fully developed in-house
  • Custom-built map and navigation system

Exhibitors had to be centrally managed, informed, and integrated into processes — from preparation through to billing.

Our communication platform:

  • Secure digital area for booth operators
  • Dedicated login area for exhibitors
  • Newsletter system for direct communication
  • Platform for revenue reporting
  • Centralized document management
  • Digital exchange of documents and data

Exhibitors wanted to interact with visitors, generate leads, and build connections in a playful way.

Our service:

  • Development of interactive prize games
  • Digital competitions directly at the booths
  • On-site participation without paperwork
  • Contact data capture for exhibitors
  • Measurable participation rates
  • Qualified leads for booth operators
